Every once in a while, we come across a riddle that seems too simple to be worth our time at first glance. But here’s the thing: sometimes, things are not as they seem and it takes a good eye to spot the problem quickly.
This is why, when you come across a puzzle and you believe you’ve found your answer, you still have to ask yourself if there’s something you’re missing.
Take a look at today’s puzzle for instance. The question is pretty straightforward, which of these cups will get filled up first?
The interesting thing about puzzles like this is that you just might take a closer look, rather than come up with the first thing that pops in your head. This is one of the reasons why many of us spend so much time on great puzzles.
All you need is to be a little logical to figure out the structure of things and come up with the answer.
So take a look at the above image again. There are four glasses and one pitcher of tea. Just taking a look at all the pipes leading to the cups, the question is simple, which of the cups will get filled up first?
You’ll need to calculate how much time it will take the tea to get to each cup based on the setup of the pipes. This can take some time, so don’t rush the process. Simply let your mind consider all possibilities until you find your answer.
Have you found it? Great! Then you’re ready to see our answer and check if you are actually right.
The first and only glass that will be filled at all is number 2. Confused? Well, take another look at the image and you’ll see that all pipes leading to the other glasses are blocked at some point meaning they will not get any tea at all.
So, at the end of the day, it isn’t really about when the glasses will fill up but about how sharp your eyes are to see that not all of them will get filled up.
Hope you had fun with this puzzle. If you did, then don’t forget to share with loved ones. Try and see if they can spot the blocked spots on the image and arrive at the right answer.
